07/08/2010 DANIEL A. PICARD, M.D., IS NEW PHYSICIAN SUPERVISOR OF HYPERBARIC MEDICINE SERVICES AT BETHESDA MEMORIAL HOSPITAL
Daniel A. Picard, M.D., Serves as Physician Supervisor of Hyperbaric Medicine Services at Bethesda Memorial Hospital.

(Boynton Beach, FL) Bethesda Memorial Hospital is proud to announce Daniel A. Picard, M.D. as the new Physician Supervisor for Hyperbaric Medicine Services.

As Physician Supervisor, Dr. Picard is responsible for monitoring patient status during their treatment with hyperbaric oxygen therapy, evaluating patients for appropriateness and efficacy of therapy, peer review, safety monitoring and environment of care. He is available to referring and consulting physicians, hyperbaric technicians and nurses for any issues or questions that come up regarding patient treatment and clinical operations of this service.

“Dr. Picard is an excellent addition to our Hyperbaric Medicine staff,” said Miguel A. Lopez-Viego, M.D., F.A.C.S., Medical Director of Bethesda Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine Program. “We know he will monitor closely the safety and care of our patients. Along with our staff, he will ensure that the highest patient care standards are provided.”

A member of the Physician Panel of the Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine Program at Bethesda since 2000, Dr. Picard has attended advanced educational courses in both wound care and hyperbaric medicine. He completed his Undersea and Hyperbaric Medicine Society-approved training in hyperbaric medicine at the Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, New York.

Dr. Picard is Board Certified in Pain Management and Rehabilitation. Besides his involvement with wound care and hyperbarics, Dr. Picard also serves as Medical Director of the Cornell Institute for Rehabilitation Medicine at Bethesda Memorial Hospital.

The Bethesda Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine Program has two locations, one at Bethesda Memorial Hospital and another at Bethesda Health City in western Boynton Beach. The Program specializes in the treatment of chronic wounds and related non-responsive conditions and offers hospital-based outpatient wound care and hyperbaric oxygen therapy. Patients are seen by a group of multi-specialty, Board Certified physicians who have attended specialized training in advanced wound care.
