| Combining state-of-the-art technology with our
compassionate and caring staff, Bethesda Women's Health Center is
dedicated to providing comprehensive diagnostic services for both women
and men. Accredited by the American College of Radiology, our Center meets
all professional standards of safety and quality and is designated by the
FDA (Food and Drug Administration) as a Certified Mammography Facility.
DIGITAL MAMMOGRAPHY
Bethesda Women's Health Center is proud to have been Palm
Beach County's first facility featuring all-digital mammography with
computer-aided detection (CAD). Digital mammography has many benefits for
all women, particularly women with dense breasts, those under age 50 or
women who are perimenopausal.
Mammograms are normally completed within 15 minutes.
Diagnostic mammography results are discussed with the patient at
the time of service. Screening results are usually available
within 48 to 72 hours. Mammography results are read by Board Certified
radiologists and sent to the patient and referring
physician. |

Breast Ultrasound Imaging - Breast
ultrasound imaging is used to determine whether a palpable breast lump
is cystic or solid, diagnose fibrocystic disease of the breast, follow
up on masses located in the breast, and to determine small ductal
tumors.

Breast Biopsies - Stereotactic,
ultrasound and MRI guided breast biopsies are performed when
necessary to facilitate the early diagnosis of breast cancer.

Genetic Counseling and Testing -
Patients with a strong family or personal history of breast cancer can
benefit from genetic counseling and testing for Breast and Ovarian
Cancer Syndrome (BRCA1&2). It can also help patients with cancer
evaluate treatment options based on their risk of recurrence.

Breast Health Navigator Services
- Bethesda's Breast Health Navigator is a registered nurse who is
certified in breast health and available to assist patients referred for
biopsy or who are diagnosed with breast cancer. As a resource for
patients and family members, the Breast Health Navigator provides
valuable information and support.

Comprehensive Physical Breast
Examination - Appointments can be made with our Nurse
Practitioner who is a Breast Health Specialist.

Breast MRI - Together with Bethesda
Outpatient Imaging Center, Bethesda Women's Health Center offers Breast
MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) and MRI guided breast biopsies.

Ultrasound Imaging - Bethesda Women's
Health Center offers ultrasound imaging services for abdominal, pelvic,
renal and thyroid imaging. |

BONE DENSITY TESTING
Affecting one out of four American women each year, osteoporosis
is a condition resulting from a gradual loss of bone tissue, typically following
menopause. Bethesda Women's Health Center uses a digital bone densitometer with
CAD to provide views of both the spine and hip for osteoporosis screening. The
equipment is also capable of vertebral fracture assessment.
WELLNESS EDUCATION PROGRAMS
Bethesda Women's Health Center offers a full complement of
services designed to meet a woman's needs. Whether she is the expectant
mother-to-be, or the woman learning to manage menopause symptoms and
osteoporosis, every stage is an important milestone of her life.
