Center for Pediatric Development

Helping Children and Their Families Meet Their Unique Challenges   

Bethesda Memorial Hospital's Center for Pediatric Development is dedicated to providing quality rehabilitation services for newborns, infants and children of all ages in South Palm Beach and North Broward Counties. We provide a skilled team of professionals whose care is focused on each individual. Our Joint Commission accreditation and excellent patient satisfaction results assure you that we meet all performance standards and provide the highest quality of care possible.

Each child registered at the Center for Pediatric Development participates in an in-depth evaluation conducted by our rehabilitation team of licensed pediatric specialists. An individualized treatment program is designed exclusively for each child.  Our staff of occupational therapists, physical therapists, speech language pathologists and audiologists collaborates with the healthcare team to ensure the best care plan for each child and family.

Our Center offers the following evaluation and treatment services:

  • Neurodevelopmental Evaluation & Treatment
  • Newborn Screening with follow-up
  • Parent Education
  • Perceptual/Cognitive Testing
  • Sensory Integration Treatment
  • Speech & Language Evaluation/Treatment (Including pre-speech, language, voice, fluency and articulation
  • Torticollis Rehabilitation  
  • Video Fluoroscopic Speech Studies (VPI)
  • Video Fluoroscopic Swallowing Studies
  • Wheelchair Evaluation
The parents or caregivers are an integral part of our treatment program and are encouraged to be involved in their child's program through participation in treatment sessions and home programs.  Our staff facilitates patient interaction, socialization and support through a variety of scheduled activities.

Scheduling an Appointment

Before making your first appointment with the Center for Pediatric Development, a referral from the patient's primary physician is required.  A parent or the physician's office will then contact our Central Scheduling department at (561) 374-5700 to arrange a convenient appointment time.

Insurance Considerations

One of the many ways Bethesda Memorial Hospital meets healthcare needs is by considering all of the financial assistance opportunities available to families.  We accept private insurance, Medicaid and are a Part "C"  Early Intervention Therapy Provider.
